Get Active is for people who want to engage in exercise, sports and other physical activities but who lack the confidence to join general public sessions. The project offers a range of sports and other activities in a safe supported environment and provides stepping stones towards getting active in the community. The aim is to have fun, to build people's confidence and self-esteem and improve both mental and physical health. We support people in developing their own interests and abilities including helping people to get training (eg as Walk Leaders). Activities include local walks, swimming, gym, badmintion, tennis and more adventurous challenges, such as sailing and snowboarding, when people are ready. Camping trips and social events are also part of the agenda.
